The Nightmare Affair by Mindee Arnett Jacket reveal + giveaway

I have a treat for you guys today. A cover reveal! Whee!

Yesterday Tor.com revealed The Nightmare Affairs' front cover here along with all the covers it took to get to the final product.

Here it is again, by itself.

Isn't it gorgeous?  I LOVE the phoenix and the purple color.  And the silhouette of the girl. I'm just totally in love with this cover.

BUT today I, and a few other blogs, have something even more awesome to show you.  We are revealing the rest of the jacket!

I'm so excited!

Okay, here's the jacket without the jacket copy:

And here's the finished version:

You can click on the pictures to make them larger.

Aren't they just gorgeous! And LOOK! The spine is a TREE!  How freakin' awesome is THAT!

Jacket Copy:

16-year-old Dusty Everhart breaks into houses late at night, but not because she’s a criminal. No, she’s a Nightmare.

Literally.

Being the only Nightmare at Arkwell Academy, a boarding school for magickind, and living in the shadow of her mother’s infamy is hard enough, but when Dusty sneaks into Eli Booker’s house, things get a whole lot more complicated. He’s hot, which means sitting on his chest and invading his dreams couldn’t get much more embarrassing.

But it does.

Eli is dreaming of a murder. The setting is Arkwell.

And then his dream comes true. Now Dusty has to follow the clues—both within Eli’s dreams and out of them—to stop the killer before more people turn up dead. And before the killer learns what she’s up to and marks her as the next target…

And here's a bit about Mindee, who's just awesome in her own right. :)

Mindee Arnett lives on a horse farm in Ohio with her husband, two kids, a couple of dogs, and an inappropriate number of cats.  She’s addicted to jumping horses and telling tales of magic and the macabre.  Her short stories have appeared in various magazines, and she has a Master of Arts in English literature with an emphasis in Creative Writing. She also blogs and tweets, and is hard at work on her next novel in the Arkwell Academy series.  Find her online at www.mindeearnett.com.

And now onto the best part. The contest!

The book is due out March 5, 2013, but in the meantime, we’re celebrating with a giveaway. The first winner will receive an Advance Readers Copy of Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake as well as a signed ARC of The Nightmare Affair when they come available in October. The second winner will receive an ARC of my book, RENEGADE, as well as a signed ARC of The Nightmare Affair.  The contest will run for a week.

Just fill out the widget below and Mindee will announce and alert the winner next week.

German Cover Reveal for RENEGADE!

I've been waiting forEVER to be able to show you all this. And to say I'm not a very patient person and this was killing me is an understatement. And you'll see why in a minute.

I've now gotten two covers for RENEGADE (US and German) and I've been incredibly lucky that I can say that I love them both.   Even though they're so different from each other, they're perfect for the story in their own ways.

I could blab on and on about the fantasticness (Yes, it's a word. Even if I did make it up. :P) of the cover, but they say a picture says a 1,000 words, so I'll just let it speak for itself.

Isn't it lovely?!  I'm told that the German title, Tiefenrausch, means "rapture of the deep," which is pretty neat! At least to me.

And some more great news is I have a German release date of August 20, 2012 and it's available for pre-order at Amazon.

That's the only link I can find right now, but I'm sure it'll be available at other places soon, but feel free to check out the IVI site for more up-to-date information than I have.

So, what do you think of my new cover?!

Mid-winter's Eve Giveaway Hop

I hadn't planned on doing another hop so soon, but my group blog The Oasis for YA is hosting this one along with I Am A Reader, Not A Writer and so I wanted to show my support.  :)  Also, it's a chance to pimp my editor sister's book and mention what my favorite book of 2011 was.

So, without further adieu, I present this hop's prize.  A copy of my favorite book of 2011.  ANNA DRESSED IN BLOOD by Kendare Blake.

Anna Dressed in Blood

Just your average boy-meets-girl, girl-kills-people story...

Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.

So did his father before him, until his gruesome murder by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father's mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. Together they follow legends and local lore, trying to keep up with the murderous dead—keeping pesky things like the future and friends at bay.

When they arrive in a new town in search of a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas doesn't expect anything outside of the ordinary: move, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he's never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, but now stained red and dripping blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.

And she, for whatever reason, spares his life.

All you have to do to enter is be a blog follower and fill in the form below.  The contest is international as I'll be buying the book through the book depository.  So, if they'll ship to you, you can enter.

The contest will run from Dec. 21st to 27th.

Winner will be announced sometime on Dec 28th.

Good luck and thanks for entering!
